Officers Rescue Baby Ducks On Long Island: Police
Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a group of ducklings trapped in a Long Island storm drain earlier this week.
MASTIC BEACH, NY — A group of ducklings that fell into a storm drain were rescued by Suffolk County Police officers earlier this week, officials told Patch on Thursday.
According to police, a 911 caller reported "the trapped foursome" in Mastic Beach on Tuesday.
Seventh Precinct Officers Sean Roche, Douglas Minogue, Kellie Znaniecki, Zachary Proctor and Danielle Piotrowski were quickly on the scene.

Wearing rain gear and armed with crab nets and tools to pry open the drain, the officers "successfully rescued the ducklings" from the drain and brought them to safety.
"After being pulled to safety, the four babies continued on their way," police said.
