  1. Officials announced that Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library would be relocated to a temporary location at the beginning of June as the main branch will go into a renovation. A $26 million plan of expansion was approved back in 2019. The temporary extension will open on June 6 at 15 Herkimer St. and operate for 18 months. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
  2. William Floyd High School teacher and principal Philip Scottowas honored his commitment to the school district at a dinner hosted by the Shirley-Mastic Chamber of Commerce. The event was held at Sunset Harbour in East Patchogue with Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilman Dan Panico attending. (Press Release Desk)
  3. Patchogue Beer Fest returns to Burgerology on Railroad Avenue. The event features local brewers serving their crafts in the parking lot with live DJs, raffles, and giveaways. The big day is set for Sunday, May 15, from 2 to 6 p.m. (Greater Long Island)
  4. Nearby News: A person hit by a train at the Port Jefferson Long Island Rail Road on Tuesday is expected to survive. The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. when a pedestrian was crossing Route 112 when a train from Huntington hit the person who was then transported to Stony Brook Hospital. (Daily Voice)
