- For those who want to honor the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11, special ceremonies will be hosted throughout Suffolk County on the 21st Anniversary of 9/11. Check out locations and times of events. (Patch)
- The 21st annual Smith Point Bridge Run for Literacy kicks off on Saturday. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. in Shirley. Same-day registrations are at 7:30 a.m. in the park's parking lot for $30 per person. (Patch)
