  1. William Floyd Middle school student Jack Meyer received a $500 Suffolk County Music Educators Association (SCMEA) scholarship. The award will be invested in private lessons to advance his career goals! Each year SCMEA awards students for the annual summer studies. (LIA)
  2. Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Library will be temporally relocated in June due to the renovations on the main building in Shirley. The new location will be at the Mastic Recreation Center at 15 Herkimer St. beginning of June 6. (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
  3. MMS Community Library invites parents to participate in the "Healthy Lunch Box" workshop on Monday, May 23 at 6 p.m. Bring your child's lunch box with clean containers to create a healthy lunch! (MMSCL)
  4. Gas prices reached a new record this week. The gas price in New York City is now at $4.91. On Long Island, the gas prices jumped 4 cents overnight, reaching $4.95 a gallon. (LINews12)
