Press release from the Town of Brookhaven:
May 1, 2023
On April 17, Deputy Supervisor Dan Panico was at Bayview Park in Mastic Beach to announce that the Town of Brookhaven, in partnership with Relic Design, is working to combat coastal pollution in the Tri-Hamlet community. This new environmental effort allows visitors to use a basket to pick up trash and deposit it into a trash receptacle. The “Clean-Up Stations” are provided to the Town by Eastern Environmental Solutions, Inc., the financial sponsor of the program, in association with Relic Sustainability, Inc. of Remsenburg. Relic’s Coastal Collaborative currently encompasses many stations across Long Island. In 2021, Relic established a Clean Up station at the Town of Brookhaven’s Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai. Deputy Supervisor Panico said, “Thanks to our clean community partners at Relic and the Mastic Beach Conservancy, we have three more clean up stations that have been installed at Bayview Park, Osprey Park and Cranberry Pier in Mastic Beach. These are conveniently located next to trash receptacles and are the latest placements across Brookhaven Town beaches and parks, as well as Suffolk County beaches.”
