British Retailer Wolf & Badger Preparing to Open First US Store in SoHo
The up-and-coming British storefront for independent sellers will be expanding to the United States soon.
SOHO, NY — The endless parade of high-end stores in SoHo is adding one more to the group. Wolf & Badger, a store which features independent brands, will be opening its first United States location in SoHo. You'll have some time to prepare, however, as opening is not expected until February 2017.
The first Wolf & Badger store was opened in Notting Hill — not just a Julia Roberts/Hugh Grant movie, but also a London neighborhood — in 2009. The store hosts merchandise, such as men's and women's clothing, jewelry and accessories, from independent sellers.
The 2,500-square-foot SoHo location will open at 95 Grand St. First, though, the space will undergo a months long redesign by London-based Augustus Brown Architects, which also designed the company's London stores. The spot had hosted Trademark Boutique, run by retail investor Chris Burch's daughters, since August 2014.

The original store in Notting Hill, and a second that opened in the Mayfair section of London, carry goods from British sellers. The New York location will carry goods from sellers across the United States, as well as some "never-before-sold in America" items from Great Britain.
"This is a tremendous opportunity to finally bring our concept of super curated, high quality independent designer brands to the wider U.S. market," co-founder Henry Graham said in a statement. "There's nothing like what we do in U.S. and since New York is a key destination for fashion, we are delighted to have the opportunity to welcome its discerning residents to our store to discover something new and different."

Wolf & Badger says one-fifth of its sales already come from the United States through its website.
Alexander Wang's flagship store is located right next door at 103 Grand St. and fellow British retailer Ted Baker has a shop within a block of the new Wolf & Badger location.
