Cab Driver Sat Dead In Car For 18 Hours Before He Was Found: Report
A cab driver found dead in SoHo last week sat dead for 18 hours before he was found, according to a new report.

SOHO, NY — A taxi driver found dead in his car last week sat there for 18 hours without anyone realizing he had died, according to a new report.
Mehari Bokrezion was found dead in his taxi on Aug. 9, 18 hours after he had first parked the car on a SoHo street for a break, according to a New York Times report. Bokrezion, a 59-year-old Greenwich Village resident and longtime cab driver, parked his cab near the intersection of Grand and Thompson streets in SoHo at about 12:34 p.m. He was found at about 6:30 a.m. the next morning, when a concerned passer-by called 911 around the same time as his wife tracked down his car. The city's medical examiner later determined that Bokrezion died of natural causes.

Bokrezion immigrated to the U.S. from Eritrea, and got his taxi driver's license in 1991, according to the Times.
