Falling Tree In Soho Injures Pedestrian, Officials Say
A tree near 39 Crosby St. in Soho fell and injured a man on Tuesday.

SOHO, NY — A tree in Soho fell and injured a man on Tuesday afternoon, according to fire department officials.
A tree planted in a sidewalk plot near 39 Crosby St. fell on a man's back as he was walking past it, according to a fire department spokesman and a witness. Emergency responders arrived after getting a call at about 12 p.m. and the man was transported to the hospital, authorities said. His condition was not immediately known.
Passerby Vitaly Bonoarev stepped in to help the man, who he said was trapped under the tree.
