Fashionable Thief Steals $14K In Designer Clothes, Police Say
The man is suspected of stealing $14,000 from boutiques in Manhattan.

SOHO, NY — Police are searching for a thief with expensive taste who has robbed boutique stores in Soho, Midtown and Greenwich Village of designer jackets and glasses worth thousands of dollars, police said.
The high-end thief started his spree in May by stealing four pairs of Gucci eye glasses from a Lens Crafters store in Midtown, at 1166 Sixth Ave., the NYPD said in a statement. Police said the man approached the eyeglass display and took the frames, which in total were worth $1,164, before fleeing the store.
The man resume stealing luxe goods in August, police said. On Aug. 9, he stole a black jacket worth $2,150 from the Oroboro boutique in Soho. A little over a week later, on Aug. 11, the man returned to Midtown to nab a leather jacket worth $3,570 from the Philip Plein boutique at 625 Madison Ave. Finally, last week the man stopped by a the Brunello Cucinelli boutique in Greenwich Village, at 379 Bleecker St., and stole a jacket worth $7,145.

In total, the man is suspected of stealing more than $14,000 in designer goods.
Police are searching for the man, who has not been identified, and released surveillance photos of him on Saturday. They believe he is between 45 and 55 years old, and are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating him.
