FDR Drive Briefly Closed By 4-Car Crash On UES, Officials Say

The NYPD warned of traffic delays after the collision, which left one person with minor injuries.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A four-car crash on the FDR Drive injured one person and briefly blocked northbound traffic early Tuesday morning, officials said. The collision happened just before 5:15 a.m. near East 68th Street on the Upper East Side, according to an FDNY spokesperson.

One person was taken to a NewYork-Presbyterian hospital with minor injuries and another refused medical attention at the scene, the Fire Department spokesperson said.

The NYPD's 19th Precinct warned around 6:10 a.m.that the highway's northbound lanes were closed. The lanes were reopened about 15 minutes later, police said, but drivers should expect residual delays.
