Karl Lagerfeld Bringing Fendi to SoHo's Greene Street
The top designer will join a host of other incredibly fashionable retailers on the trendy block.
SOHO, NY — More fashion royalty appears headed to the ever-filling luxury lane of Greene Street. The Real Deal reports Fendi, helmed by uber-popular German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, is looking to open a new flagship store at 99 Greene St.
Let's just hope he won't be drawing the ire of residents by holding any fashion shows in the middle of the street like across-the-way neighbor Rebecca Minkoff.
The Real Deal says Fendi is currently in negotiations over the property, which is 2,700 square feet on the ground level with 3,300 square feet of cellar space. Fendi is plenty familiar with Greene Street, having located two pop-up shops on the street. They had a location at 122 Greene St. back in 2014, now home to Louis Vitton, and an all men's store at 112 Greene St. Fendi has another New York location at 598 Madison Avenue.

Lagerfeld, 83, has been working with Fendi since 1965, and is currently the brand's creative director of fur and women's ready-to-wear clothing.
The location was listed on Sinvin Realty, a commercial real estate firm, which touted "neighboring tenants" like Tiffany and Co. (literally next door), Dior, Jimmy Choo, Stella McCartney and others. Lagerfeld sounds like he'll be right at home.
