Knifeman Robs Women At SoHo Subway Station, Police Say

The man robbed two woman in the Spring Street subway station, police said.

SOHO, NY — A man robbed two women at knifepoint in the Spring Street subway station, police said.

The man grabbed a 50-year-old woman from behind on June 13 before covering her mouth and nose with a cloth, police said. He threatened her with a knife and stole $70 in cash before fleeing the station, the NYPD said in a statement. (Want more local news? On June 17, the same man robbed another woman inside the station. He grabbed the 49-year-old victim from behind and used a white cloth to cover her mouth and nose, police said. He then pulled out a knife and stole $75 in cash from her purse, according to authorities.

Neither woman was injured, the NYPD said.

Police released photos of the man, believed to be about 25 years old.
