Man Slashes Stranger In SoHo Subway Station, Police Say

Police are looking for a man who cut a perfect stranger after the two bumped into each other on the subway stairs.

SOHO, NY — A man attacked a complete stranger on Tuesday evening after the two bumped into each and began arguing, according to police.

Authorities say they are still looking for the subway slasher, who attacked a 44-year-old man on Tuesday in SoHo. The 44-year-old was walking down the stairs of the Canal Street subway station at about 4:45 p.m. when he bumped into the slasher, who police have not yet identified, an NYPD spokesman said. The two men began arguing before the man cut the 44-year-old on the side of his face, according to authorities. The 44-year-old was transported to the hospital for treatment. The attacker ran from the subway and hasn't yet been located, police said.
