SoHo High Rise To Replace Empty Lot
A 30-story high-rise will replace an empty lot on Varick Street. Construction is expected to be complete in 2019.

SOHO, NY — A 30-story building has started construction on Varick Street, the latest in a string of new developments in SoHo.
The new building, located at 111 Varick St., will be mixed use, with space for apartments as well as retail. It will house an estimated 100 apartments, according to the developer. The construction, which began earlier this year, is not expected to be completed until February 2019, according to the construction notice posted outside of the site.
The plot of land was previously an empty lot and a parking lot, before developers bought it in 2015, according to city records. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
