Man Charged With DWI After Head-On Flanders Crash: PD

He swerved out of his lane and crashed head-on into the other vehicle, police say.

FLANDERS, NY — A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a head-on crash in Flanders Friday afternoon, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the two-car crash took place at about 4:43 p.m. in the vicinity of Wood Road Trail and Reeves Bay Trail. Patrol units responded and determined Melesio Chin-Ullu, 41, of Riverhead, swerved out of his lane and collided head-on into the other motor vehicle on Wood Road Trail, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and traffic infractions, then transported to
Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
