Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary Unveil New Ministry Logos

The Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM), an international congregation of women religious founded in 1849, recently unveiled new brand identities for their sponsored ministries, including Centro Corazón de María (CCDM) in Hampton Bays, NY, and Cormaria Retreat Center in Sag Harbor, NY. This rebranding effort represents the congregation’s commitment to meeting the needs of the times and serving the most vulnerable, particularly women and children, through their ministries.

“The new look marks an exciting chapter for us,” said Leydy Merced, Director of Centro Corazón de María. “It’s not just about a new logo—it’s a reflection of the strong connection between the RSHM and CCDM and the values we stand for. We are partners in mission.”

“This new logo also reflects the RSHM’s call to community, to know and celebrate God’s love for us and to make that love known to others,” said Joan McGovern, Director of Cormaria Retreat Center. “We invite all to experience an atmosphere where the Spirit flourishes for the life and dignity for all.”

The new logo features the combination of the heart, the cross and circular shape which recalls the idea of openness and connection with the world, underlining at the same time the importance of love and care. The cross inside the heart gives importance to the heart listening and is linked to the circular line which represents the community. This redesign is part of a larger effort to ensure that both the congregation’s and ministries’ visual identity aligns with the RSHM mission to “that all may have life.”

Centro Corazón de María, founded in 2002 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, is a place of welcome and hope for underserved immigrants living on the East End of Long Island. Its mission is to provide education, social services, emergency assistance, and advocacy to help newly arrived individuals and families become independent successful contributors to the community.

Cormaria Retreat Center, a place of gracious hospitality in Sag Harbor, NY, offers retreats and programs in spirituality and contemplative practices, including group, private, directed, and silent retreats. Groups and organizations are welcome for day and overnight retreats or workshops at the center. Guests enjoy the quiet, peaceful environment here, as well as the beautiful views of Sag Harbor Bay. The Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary is an international congregation of women religious whose mission is: “to know and love God, to make God known and loved; to proclaim that Jesus Christ has come in order that all may have life” (RSHM Constitutions #7). Each sister wears a cross that reads Ut Vitam Habeant, “so that all may have life.” Their lives are built around the common understanding that everyone deserves a life of dignity.
