Sag Harbor Woman Dies In LI Hit-And-Run Crash: PD

She was struck by 2 drivers, who were both arrested and charged, police say.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Police have identified a woman killed in a Brentwood hit-and-run crash Monday as Alison Pfefferkorn, 41, of Sag Harbor.

Suffolk County police said the crash took place at 5:10 a.m.; Luis Vasquez, 59, of Brentwood was driving a 2020 Toyota Highlander southbound on Wicks Road, near Bradley Road, when he struck Pfefferkorn, who was crossing from east to west, police said.

Vasquez fled the scene in the vehicle, police said.

Pfefferkorn was struck by at least one other vehicle before she was transported via ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Major case unit detectives arrested Vasquez at 11:45 a.m. and charged him with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death, police said. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, police said.

On Tuesday, police arrested a second driver involved in the hit-and-run crash, police said.

Jairo Carrillo-Perez was driving a 2004 Honda southbound on Wicks Road in Brentwood when he struck Pfefferkorn, who was lying in the road after she had already been struck by Vasquez, police said.

Following an investigation by detectives, it was determined those were the only two vehicles that struck Pfefferkorn, police said.

Detectives arrested Carrillo-Perez, 28, of Brentwood, and charged him with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death, police said. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
