BPD Releases Monthly Report: June 2012

Authorities received (55) 911 calls, which included complaints for everything from a stolen vehicle to a person on a roof to larceny.

At this week's Village Board of Trustees regular meeting, officials accepted the 's report for June. Officers:

  • Issued hundreds of tickets: 149 traffic violations, 100 parking, 54 New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) truck enforcement and three local ordinance.
  • Inspected 64 taxis.
  • Made seven arrests: five suspended registrations, one trespassing and one harassment.
  • Made 291 security visits: 123 to the sewer, 109 to the water tank and 59 to the well field.
  • Spent 172 hours on foot patrol: 85 on Main Street, 58 at the Brewster Train Station and 29 in residential areas.
  • Handled (55) 911 calls—for reports that ranged from a person on the train tracks to transformer fires to suspicious vehicles—and 84 walk-in/pickup complaints.
