Brewster Cops Handle 62 Emergency Calls in June

At this week's Village Board of Trustees meeting, officials accepted the Brewster Police Department's report for June 2013. Officers:

  • Issued 192 traffic tickets, 93 parking and three local ordinance.
  • Inspected 37 taxis.
  • Made four arrests: one warrant, one suspended license, one suspended registration and one trespass.
  • Made 354 security visits: 145 to the sewer, 142 to the water tank and 67 to the well field.
  • Spent 189 hours on foot patrol: 76 on Main Street, 75 at the Brewster Train Station and 38 in residential areas.
  • Handled (62) 911 calls—for reports of assault to a large fight to a suspicious backpack and more—and 28 walk-in/pickup complaints.
