Brewster Cops Spend 84 Hours on Main Street in May

At this week's Village Board of Trustees meeting officials accepted the Brewster Police Department's report for May 2013. Officers:

  • Issued 179 traffic tickets and 114 for parking.
  • Inspected 46 taxis.
  • Made 11 arrests: four for warrants, two disorderly conduct, two suspended registration, one criminal mischief, one suspended license and one trespass.
  • Made 388 security visits: 150 to the sewer, 146 to the water tank and 92 to the well field.
  • Spent 208 hours on foot patrol: 84 on Main Street, 93 at the Brewster Train Station and 31 in residential areas.
  • Handled (55) 911 calls—for reports of an assault, a robbery, a sick raccoon, stuck elevators and more—and 19 walk-in/pickup complaints.
