Chain-Reaction 5-Vehicle Collision Shut Down I-84 for Hours: NYSP
The driver of a dump truck was also unable to stop, losing control and hitting a guardrail in the median of the highway.

KENT, NY — A five-car pileup made the morning commute extra stressful Wednesday morning, but fortunately, only minor injuries were reported.
New York State Police say that on Wednesday, around 6:51 a.m., troopers responded to I-84 westbound, near mile post 63.3 in the town of Kent, for a multi-vehicle collision.
Their investigation found that traffic had been slowing for an unknown reason, when one driver failed to slow in time, which caused a chain-reaction, five-vehicle rear-end collision. Police said the vehicles came to rest in the lanes of travel, which blocked the interstate highway, just as the morning rush was getting into swing.
