Cortlandt Man Killed In Carmel Crash

CARMEL, NY — A Cortlandt Manor man died after the SUV he was driving hit a utility pole and overturned on Route 301 in Carmel Wednesday afternoon.

The Carmel Police Department was called to the scene near Gipsy Trail Road at 4:04 p.m.

The operator Andrew Pesavento, 35, was found unconscious and unresponsive at the scene
and appeared to have sustained major internal injuries, police said.

Carmel Police along with Carmel Fire Department, Carmel Volunteer Ambulance, and Empress EMS personnel were on scene and all assisted with extricating and rendering first aid. Pesavento was then taken to Putnam Hospital Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
