Sacred Space Tour at St. Andrew's

On May 21, from noon to 2 p.m.,  St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Brewster will participate in The New York Landmarks Conservancy’s Sacred Sites Open House weekend.

St. Andrew's is listed on both the New York State and National Register of Historic Places. This Gothic Revival building was built in 1903 from designs by Edward Pearce Casey, best known for his completion of the Library of Congress in Washington, and Arthur Durant Sneden, who was the chief designer for the New York City Board of Education.

One of the glories of St. Andrew's is its stained glass windows. The windows in the nave depict the life of Christ and are by Calvert and Kimberly, two men who trained under Louis Comfort Tiffany. The magnificent chancel window is said to the be the work of Tiffany.
