When Saying Something Isn't Enough: Standing Firm for Our Values

This past Saturday, our nation faced a harrowing moment with the attempted assassination of President Trump. This act of violence is not only a direct attack on the individual but on the very principles and freedoms that define our republic. It is a stark reminder that while vigilance and speaking out against threats are crucial, sometimes, even that isn't enough.
In our town, we the NSRTC, pride ourselves on our commitment to the values of the Republican National Committee (RNC): individual liberty, limited government, and the rule of law. These values are the bedrock of our community and our nation. The attempt on President Trump's life underscores the need for us to be even more resolute in defending these principles. When "see something, say something" isn't sufficient, we must do more. We must engage actively in our political process, support our law enforcement, and ensure that our communities are informed and prepared.
This week, as the RNC convened in Milwaukee to nominate our Republican Presidential candidate Donald J. Trump, we have an opportunity to reaffirm our dedication to these values and to stand united against those who seek to undermine them. We condemn this act of violence in the strongest possible terms and call on all Americans, regardless of political affiliation, to join us in promoting a culture of respect, dialogue, and lawful dissent.
Let us remember that our strength lies in our unity and our unwavering commitment to the ideals upon which our nation was founded.
Sincerely,
The North Salem Republican Town Committee
