Mutilated, Dead Birds Inside Bag Found Floating In Lake Carmel

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — A grisly find floating in a Hudson Valley lake has authorities looking for answers.

The Putnam County SPCA Law Enforcement Division says that they were notified by Town of Kent police on April 4, around 8:14 p.m., about a large, black garbage bag floating in Lake Carmel, near the intersection of Route 52 and Route 311, with dead animals inside.

After further investigation, police say that one rooster and one pigeon were found inside the bag, along with two objects wrapped in yarn with several pins stuck in them, and other items.
