9/11: Serve + Remember; 5K; Put A Lid On It | Volunteer Opportunities

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

9/11: Serve + Remember
Volunteer New York!'s 14th annual 9/11: Serve and Remember community-wide day of service is more than just an event: it's a testament to our shared resilience, unity, and the power of collective action. Volunteers can participate in family-friendly opportunities, including making fleece blankets and laundry sachets for families in need to donating blood to learning CPR. Space is limited and registration is required.

Put A Lid On It Opening Reception
Clay Art Center is hosting its "Put A Lid On It" opening reception to spotlight lidded ceramics by artists at all stages of their careers. The event will include artist talks, prizes, and light refreshments. Volunteers are needed to help with setting up, preparing food and drinks, and cleaning. This is a great project for volunteers 16+.

NAMI Rockland 5K Walk and Run
NAMI Rockland needs volunteers to assist with its annual 5K Walk and Run! Roles include overseeing the raffle, registration, and information tables; distributing T-shirts, bags, and water; and helping with cleanup. All volunteers will receive T-shirts and community service hours (for school, court, etc.).
Date: 9/8 from 6:45-9 a.m. & 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
