Patch: Why are you seeking this office?
Ascher: I love this job. It is the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done in my career. I work extraordinarily hard to be certain that I can best serve the people of the Town of Clarkstown. I also have experience (both prosecuting and defending) every type of matter that our Court has jurisdiction over.
Patch: What are the major differences between you and the other candidate(s) seeking this post?
Ascher: I don’t believe that it is appropriate to comment on any other candidate. The Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics has given us guidance on this issue.
Patch: What is the single most pressing issue facing your constituents and what do you intend to do about it?
Ascher: To provide fair, impartial and a thorough review of each and every matter that appears before me.
Patch: What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Ascher: My training and experience. I was also selected as the first Raise the Age Accessible (Justice Court) Magistrate in this County
Patch: What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Ascher: To make sure that you love what you do, because you are going to so a lot of it.
Patch: Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Ascher: I love this job, and hope to keep it.
