A 30-year-old Carmel man, who was previously convicted of driving while intoxicated, drove drunk through Mahopac, according to officials.
Carmel Police Officer Stephen McCabe arrested David Becerra at about midnight Monday. Becerra passed through a red light and "almost caused an accident at Route 6 and East Lake Boulevard," authorities said in a statement.
Becerra reportedly failed field sobriety tests. Police charged him with felony driving while intoxicated and released him pending a future appearance in Carmel Justice Court.
