Putnam Hospital Center to Host Robotic Surgery Seminar

The seminar is set for Saturday, Oct. 22.

In 2011, the da Vinci robot-assisted surgical system was introduced at Putnam Hospital Center, ushering in a minimally invasive option for major operations.

Since then, hundreds of robotic surgeries have been performed at the hospital. The instrument has allowed surgeons to perform less invasive procedures with a greater level of precision.

Four physicians with CareMount Medical Group and on the medical staff at Putnam Hospital Center will present “Updates on Robotic Surgery at Putnam Hospital Center,” from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 22, in the hospital’s Michael T. Weber Auditorium, 670 Stoneleigh Ave.

This seminar will allow the public to use the da Vinci robot simulator to understand how the system works and will include information on the uses of the robot in urology, gynecology and general surgery.
