
Ryan Blackwell, a 25-year-old Brewster resident and rookie with the FDNY, was recently featured on LoHud.com for saving a 54-year-old woman from an apartment fire early Saturday.

Blackwell's father, Christopher, was also a New York City firefighter. He died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. During his career with the FDNY he received many fire department awards for bravery.
