A 911 broadcast advising police to be on the lookout for a vehicle whose driver appeared to be intoxicated recently led to the arrest of a 19-year-old from Patterson, officials say.
Deputy Sheriff Alexander Ruhe spotted the car—and the matching license plate—at about 8:05 a.m. Aug. 17 on Route 22 in Patterson. Authorities say the defendant was speeding.
The teen was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated after he failed field sobriety tests, according to officials. Following arraignment he was sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility. He will be due in Patterson Justice Court at a later date.
