Shoplifting Caper Leads To Weapons Charges For Putnam Woman, Michigan Boyfriend: Sheriff
While arresting the shoplifter who had a stun gun, deputies noticed a man hiding behind a car, which had a 9 mm pistol inside, cops said.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A call about a shoplifter returning to the scene of an earlier theft slowly became much more serious, according to the sheriff's department.
Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville says that a Michigan man was arrested for weapons possession.
On June 2, around 4:45 p.m., deputies responded to a Southeast supermarket after receiving a report that a previous shoplifter had returned to the store.

While deputies were arresting 41-year-old Mary Pincus Robles, of Mahopac, they noticed a man who was trying to hide behind a vehicle in the parking lot.
After being approached by deputies, 34-year-old Cory J. Mugridge, of Saint Clair, Michigan, admitted to being the boyfriend of Robles and that he had driven her to the store.

Upon further questioning, deputies found a 9mm pistol in the vehicle along with ammunition. While deputies attempted to arrest Mugridge, he began to resist, but was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle, according to the department.
He was charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felony criminal possession of a fiream, and two misdemeanor charges of second-degree resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
Robles was charged with misdemeanor petit larceny and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon, for having a stun gun. She is scheduled to appear in Southeast Town Court on a future date.
