Stabbing After Westchester Men Argue During Airsoft Game In Putnam

Carmel police accused a Bedford Hills man of stabbing a Mount Vernon man but would not release names.

CARMEL, NY — An argument during an airsoft game Sunday afternoon escalated into a stabbing afterward, according to Carmel police.

Police were called to Hudson Valley Airsoft on Seminary Hill Road shortly before 3 p.m..

Arriving Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies and Carmel Police officers quickly detained a suspect, a 20-year-old man from Bedford Hills.

The victim was identified as a 33-year-old Mount Vernon man.

Both were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Preliminary investigation determined the incident occurred after a dispute between the two men during an airsoft game, police said. As this is still an active investigation, names of those involved were not released Sunday, said police spokesman Lt. Michael Bodo.

In airsoft, players are placed in a tactical simulation where they must eliminate the opposite team and/or complete various objectives, according to Airsoft Station, which sells airsoft guns, gear, other weapons and accessories.
