Suspect Nabbed In Early Morning Attempted Burglary Of In-Home Business
The owners said that they were awakened by someone banging on their door and then saw someone running away.

PHILIPSTOWN, NY — A foiled burglary led to the arrest of a Fishkill man, according to law enforcement officials in Putnam County.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says that on Sunday, around 12:45 a.m., deputies responded to a business/residence on Route 9 in the Town of Philipstown after receiving a call about a possible burglary in progress.
Once at the address, the owners told the deputies that they were awakened by someone banging on their door and when they went to check, they saw a person running away from the area. Deputies noted that the front glass door to the business was smashed and the door to a car on the property was open.

Additional Sheriff's Office personnel arrived and a thermal imaging camera was used to check the surrounding wooded area. It detected the heat image of a person crouched down in the bushes.
A man was taken into custody and was identified as 53-year-old Luis Sanchez, of Fishkill, according to the sheriff's department.

He was charged with felony third-degree attempted burglary, felony third-degree attempted grand larceny, and felony third-degree criminal mischief.
Sanchez was arraigned in the Town of Philipstown Court and was released pending his next court date.
