Teens Crash Into Mack Truck On I-684 In Stolen Land Rover: Police
After fleeing on foot in a wooded area, K-9 Fortini helped a state trooper and Brewster police find their suspects.

BREWSTER, NY — Joyriding teens ended up causing misery for themselves and others, according to state troopers.
New York State Police said that on Wednesday, a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was issued to area agencies about a stolen 2025 Land Rover out of Greenwich, Connecticut, believed to be traveling north on I-684.
Soon after, troopers saw a vehicle matching the description traveling at high speed in the northbound lanes of I-684. The vehicle was later found in the Town of Southeast after it collided with the back of a 2013 Mack truck owned by the NYS Department of Transportation (DOT).

The driver of the stolen vehicle, an 18-year-old, and his 17-year-old passenger, both from Connecticut, fled the scene on foot into a wooded area, troopers said.
After a brief foot pursuit, both teens were apprehended by a state trooper and K-9 Fortini, with assistance from the Village of Brewster Police Department, according to authorities.

The driver of the DOT truck and two DOT employees, who had been collecting traffic cones on I-684 at the time of the collision, were taken to a medical facility for evaluation after reporting pain.
The two teens in the stolen vehicle were also taken to a medical facility for evaluation.
They were both charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
The driver was arraigned in the Village of Brewster Court and released on his own recognizance, while the passenger was issued a Family Court appearance ticket.
NYSP say that this investigation remains ongoing.
