Tenant Accused Of Arson In Southeast Apartment Building Blaze: Police

SOUTHEAST, NY — A tenant has been charged with setting a three-story apartment building on fire on Wednesday.
Brian Cronin, 43, of Southeast, faces one count of second-degree arson, according to state police.
Police said Cronin was interviewed after the fire and confessed to intentionally setting it inside his apartment.

The apartment building, which has 10 apartment units, is at 8 Old Route 6, state police said. The fire left multiple families without homes, officials said.

Cronin was remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
