SOUTHEAST, NY — A transit van carrying five passengers went into a ditch off route 312 on Wednesday.
Three passengers were taken to Putnam Hospital for evaluation. All three were released and no issues were reported during a follow-up with a trooper on Thursday, police said Friday.
The crash occurred around 3:07 p.m., police said.

Troopers called to the scene saw a white transit van in an embankment against a utility pole.
The driver of the van told police he felt the wheel jerk and then lost steering.

During the investigation, it was determined that the van crossed the double yellow line, went off the shoulder, and struck an embankment and a utility pole. Police said. The driver of the van has not been charged.
