A 36-year-old North Salem man was drunk behind the wheel as he sped through Southeast at 109 mph, police say.
State troopers from the East Fishkill barracks made the arrest at about 3:05 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 84, after they spotted a black BMW traveling at a "high rate of speed."
Radar showed that the vehicle was moving at 109 mph. It was a 55-mph zone.
Police initiated a traffic stop and found the driver to be intoxicated. He was processed at the barracks for a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.
The defendant is due in Southeast Justice Court Oct. 8.
