Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Fall Festival

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

Brewster Fall Festival
The Annual Brewster Fall Festival celebrates the community, raises awareness of the 1896 historic Old Town Hall theater, and shows the diversity of Brewster's multi-cultural community. Volunteers are needed to assist with the scarecrow contest and raffles, serving apple cider and doughnuts, and breaking down tables and chairs. All volunteers will take a guided tour of festival area as well as receive a $15 lunch stipend. The festival is held rain or shine!
Date: Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pumpkin Picking at Muscoot Farm
Volunteers are needed to assist with Muscoot Farm's annual fall fundraiser by orienting visitors, assisting with hayrides, and displaying pumpkins. Volunteers must be 17+ and can sign up for as many 3-hour shifts as they would like.
Date: Oct. 7-Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Westchester Heart Walk
The Westchester Heart Walk is a family-friendly event where more than a million people in more than 300 communities across the country take a stand against heart disease and stroke—the number one and number five causes of death of Americans. This event helps fund the valuable lifesaving research, education, and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up and break down of the event, registration table, cheering on the walkers, helping with the hydration stations and Bark Park, and more.
Date: Oct. 8 from 7 a.m. to noon.
