1. Support the Arts in Brewster

When/Where: Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 20)/Studio Around the Corner on Main Street
Why go: Several pieces from Sue Schneider, an artist who specializes in mixed media works, will be on display for an exhibit entitled "Domestic Policy." These shows typically draw hundreds of folks over two weeks (it will continue next week, too: 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 9 and noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 10).

2. Meet a Local Author
When/Where: 3 p.m. Saturday/Brewster Public Library
Why go: A former English professor and creative writing teacher at some of the Northeast's most respected college, Joanne Dobson has recently released a new book, Face of the Enemy: A New York in Wartime Mystery (Poisoned Pen Press 2012). She's won several awards over the years, so stop by the library and hear her read from her new work.

3. Shop at the Brewster Farmers' Market for Extra-Fresh Produce, Fall Treats
When/Where: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday/Parking lot of 208 Main Street in Brewster
Why go: It's almost the end of the season! If you don't get your fill of items from local vendors between now and Nov. 17, you'll have to wait until spring!
