Woman Charged in BCSD Theft Arrested After Domestic Incident

Brandi Wickliffe, one of three people charged in connection with the 2012 theft of about $130,000 from a Brewster Central School District child care program, was arrested after a recent domestic incident. 

State troopers from the Wappinger barracks arrested Wickliffe, 38, Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree menacing. A Newburgh resident, she is accused of "pointing a knife and threatening her victim during a domestic incident at a private residence in the Town of Wappinger," police said in a statement Tuesday.

Following arraignment, Wickliffe was released. She was due back in court the following day.

At the time of her arrest in January 2012, Wickliffe was charged with second-degree grand larceny, a felony. She was accused of stealing more than $115,000 in revenue from a before and after-school child care program that she ran with her parents, Eric and Debra Thompson.

The Thompsons, both former Brewster teachers, were accused of stealing about $15,000 in "overpaid salary by collecting the money for services that were not actually performed," officials said. Officials charged each with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Wickliffe was sentenced to probation and restitution.
