Cinco de Mayo And Mother's Day Parade Returns To Sunset Park

The third annual celebration of Mother's Day and Cinco de Mayo returns along Fifth Avenue in Sunset Park on Sunday.

SUNSET PARK, NY — A parade celebration Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day returns to Fifth Avenue in Sunset Park this weekend.

The third annual parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday with live performers, Mexican folkloric ballet dancers and more marching through the streets of the neighborhood, according to event sponsors the Sunset Park BID.

The parade starts at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue then will march along Fifth Avenue until it reaches Sunset Park at 60th Street where organizers will host their ninth annual Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day festival inside.

Fifth Avenue between 61st and 41st streets will be closed to traffic until 4 p.m. because of the parade, along with 59th Street between Fourth and Sixth avenues, the NYPD said.
