SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — Citi Bike, the company that runs New York City's bike-sharing network, is hiring "Field Bike Mechanics" who can go out and fix bikes on-the-spot.
A job posting appeared recently online looking for qualified applicants for the full-time, union job. While Citi Bike headquarters are in Sunset Park, the position doesn't appear to be tied to a certain location.
Instead, the field mechanics will "bring the expertise of a Bike Mechanic into the field to make repairs on-the-spot" and "assist with assembly, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of over 6,000 bicycles, troubleshooting and devising solutions as needed."

Requirements include mechanical expertise, experience riding bikes in a crowded environment and "excitement and interest in bike sharing."
