NYPD Looking For Sunset Park Subway Phone-Snatcher

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — The NYPD is looking for a man who they say took another man's phone out of his hand on the subway in Sunset Park.

The two men were on a north-bound D train headed for the 9th Avenue station at 39th Street, police said. The victim, a 25-year old male, was approached by the suspect who "removed his cellphone from his hand."

The thief got off the train at 9th Avenue and escaped. You can see a photo of him above.

Police described him as a 17- to 19-year-old black male who stands 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds and has brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black snorkel coat with army fatigue print on the shoulders, a green sweatshirt, black framed glasses, black jeans and black and burgundy sneakers.
