SEE: Sunset Park Manhole Fire Follows Tuesday Snowstorm

Firefighters rushed to the scene.

SUNSET PARK BROOKLYN — Sunset Park was the scene of one of several manhole fires that dotted the city, as is typical after a big snowstorm such as the one that struck Tuesday.

Firefighters rushed to the scene at 5713 8th Ave., between 57th and 58th streets, at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night, the FDNY told Patch.

The situation was declared under control by 9 and turned over to the utility company, the FDNY said.

Video from the scene showed a large presence of firefighters, who also appeared to be tending to the roof of S&P Seafood, a market on the corner of 8th Avenue and 58th Street.
