Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

1. Last week funding for the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal 35th Street Pier Expansion Project was announced by .U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer. Schumer secured a $25 million federal grant to facilitate offshore wind development. The wind turbines would be assembled at the Brooklyn waterfront facility, then installed at "wind farm" sites off the coast of Long Island. (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
2. LaGuardia Airport recently received major upgrades to Terminal B, which serves American Airlines, JetBlue, Air Canada and many other major airlines. Improvements include a new western skybridge, as well as a second concourse. (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
   
3. Three stations where riders were recently hit by trains could support safety barriers, according to a Patch analysis of an MTA report. But whether stations will get the safety upgrades remains unclear, as MTA officials have long balked at the price tags and the logistics of modernizing an aging transit system. (Patch)
