Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

  1. Adopt from Sunset Park area shelters. This week we are featuring delightful siblings, Django and Queenie who would love a forever home. Many people foster animals before they are placed. Offering a needy animal a safe, comforting and supportive environment while she waits to be adopted, helps socialize a shelter pet to enhance her adoption potential. (Sunset Park Patch)
  2. Who's hiring in the Sunset Park area? Are you good with people? Do you like talking on the phone? Well, there are plenty of customer service and sales jobs listed this week. Good luck on your interview! (Sunset Park Patch)
  3. In 2018, a run-in with state troopers in Georgia led to federal agents uncovering a sprawling, multimillion-dollar money-laundering scheme operated by a crew of Asian men in New York City. For years, the crew moved and laundered money in New York neighborhoods such as Flushing, Queens, and Sunset Park and Bensonhurst in Brooklyn at the behest of drug traffickers from the south and Midwest. The Georgia drug trafficker was convicted of drug charges last week and sentenced to 20 years in prison. All of the five Asian members received lesser sentences. (New York Post)
  4. A 21-year-old man was slashed in the back of the head after an argument with three people on the Brooklyn J train during Monday morning rush hour. The wounded straphanger was taken to Interfaith Hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. The two men and woman are still at large. (Patch)
