Here are the top four stories today in Sunset Park:

  1. Adopt from Sunset Park area shelters: New pets have been added this week. Puppies, kittens, cats and dogs -- it doesn't get more exciting than that! If you are in the spirit to train, we have adorable puppies and kittens. Or maybe you are looking to adopt a pet that is already house trained, either way, we have just the pet for you. Learn more. (Sunset Park Patch)
  2. The Brooklyn Mavens take on Brooklyn where 2.7 million people call home. The Mavens, Lauren Riley and Merlyn Oliver, both 29, are two Black women who were born and bred in the borough. They have "a social media outfit dedicated to highlighting the best of Brooklyn," according to Brooklyn Magazine. The Mavens provide a perspective of what's new and hot to do and places to go, such as pizza parlors or Black-owned hair salons in the borough. (Brooklyn Magazine)
  3. Check out the latest Sunset Park area job openings. The employment rate has climbed recently, but don't be discouraged. There are plenty of job listings, from customer service to senior care, all you need do is apply. Good luck on your interview! (Sunset Park Patch)
  4. Exterior work is nearing completion at 58 Saint Marks Place in Boerum Hill. The 12-story residential building will yield 100 residential units with 45 unique floor plans. The property will also feature 19,000 square feet of amenities. (New York YIMBY)
