Here are the top stories in Sunset Park today:

  1. Fort Hamilton High School has been on high alert after a caller phoned in a bomb threat, for the third time this week. NYPD officials said, Bay Ridge high school received similar bomb threats Monday and Tuesday. Council Member Justin Brannan tweeted, both the NYPD's 68th Precinct and the FBI are investigating noting false bomb threats are a Class E felony. (Patch)
  2. A mom, Yuewen Murray-Fraser and her 3-year-old son, Prince Griffith, have gone missing in Brownsville, according to police. The pair was last seen at their home on Rockaway Avenue near Riverdale Avenue about 9:30 a.m. Monday, police said. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). (Patch)
  3. The new state Senate map drawn by the court-appointed special master, dramatically reshape districts, in some cases fixing lines that had long ago been gerrymandered into contorted shapes. In the new map, Senate district 20, represented by Zellnor Myrie takes on a more rational shape from Sunset Park to Brownsville. (Spectrum News NY1)
  4. On Saturday at the Brooklyn Central Library, Patti Smith will attend the sixth annual "Night of Ideas". Award-winning journalist Leïla Slimani, and Kathryn Kolbert, co-founder of the Center for Reproductive Rights, will also be in attendance. Registration for the event, and proof of vaccination in order to attend. (Patch)
