- Insisting that the highway will remain safe despite the cutbacks, Mayor Eric Adams defended his plan to dramatically slash this year’s funding dedicated to maintaining the crumbling Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. amNewYork Metro first reported Thursday, the mayor wants to reduce the money in this year’s budget by 80%, from $225.1 million to just $44.6 million that was allocated to rehabilitating the decaying 1.5-mile triple-cantilever section of the BQE at the Brooklyn waterfront. (AMNY)

- The Prospect Park Alliance has decided to bring back its Re: New Prospect Park program for a second year. The initiative is dedicated to improving and maintaining the park and bringing in more volunteers to help with the effort. In addition to maintenance, projects will include installing new picnic tables, working on pedestrian pathways, and patching up stonework throughout the park. (Brooklyn Paper)
- Abortion rights supporters took to the streets on Saturday, marching over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan as part of the Bans Off Our Bodies March.
